Gates Elementary School, established in 1968, offers educational classes to students in kindergarten through grade six. The school conducts classes in various subjects, such as science, art, physical education, math, social studies and language arts. It has a library media center that assists students in the development of information literacy skills. Gates Elementary School offers the Bradley Program, which provides classes for phonics and language skills. In addition, the school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as embossed art, figure drawing, basketball, chess, technology, calligraphy and French. It has a student council that conducts a variety of school-wide contests and activities. Gates Elementary School is a part of Acton Public Schools and is located in Acton, Mass.
