AIDS Council of Northeastern New York is a nonprofit agency whose mission is to educate, reduce risk and incidence of HIV infection, encourage people affected by HIV or AIDS and promote understanding of their needs. The council provides education and outreach to at-risk individuals and the general public. It also offers direct assistance and service coordination for people living with HIV or AIDS. The council provides services to more than 1,000 affected people and their family members every year. The council has been in operation since 1984 and is based in Albany, N.Y.
