i have been coming to Doerner for several years now. Ken has always been spot on as far as pricing. i know this as i have checked it with others. his quality is great, and he has always been friendly. never a bad experience.

I stopped in to sell my broken gold jewelry. The lady was very rude to me and gave me a very low price. I went over to HC stamp and coin in Crystal Lake and Eric paid me more than twice as much and in CASH. I would highly steer AWAY FROM HERE

I recently went into here to sell some gold. What a joke. Complete waste of time and energy. I was treated rudely, like I was ignorant and stupid and I was lowballed on my pieces of jewelry. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER COMING TO THIS PLACE!!! Go to FOX VALLEY JEWELRY AND PAWN, the people there are NICE and they treat you well and give you the best price right off the bat. This would be negative stars if possible.

Doerner Jewelers is our ONLY choice! The business is Family-owned and their owner is an experienced, registered gemologist. We have purchased jewelry here, traded gold and had wristwatches serviced. We had my engagement ring custom designed for me. I love it!!! Service is prompt and staff is very friendly & knowledgable. Prices are competitive, and jewelry is top-notch. Beautiful showroom. We will be back again.

The service was great. Got my ring fixed the same day and they even cleaned my other jewelry I was wearing for free. Will be back again and will tell all my friends.

One prong was broken and the others warn down on the center stone of my wedding ring. I brought it in to be repaired just before going on vacation. The work was not good. Of the six prong mounting, two were smaller than the other four. The larger four had sharp edges on them. The luster of the newly cleaned stones look good. So, I didn't notice the problem until I wore the ring for a while, got scratched and took a closer look.

When I took the ring back, the jeweler himself was very rude when I asked him to buff the edges of the four larger prongs and pointed out that the other two prongs were smaller. He took the ring and actually ground down all the prongs. The two that were smaller were then none existent. When I complained and asked for my money back, the sales person said that I would have to wait for the owner to come in. The owner called me later and offered to fix the ring herself by replacing the prongs again.

Why would I trust Doerner Jewelers a third time with my wedding ring??? I said no and that I wanted a refund. She said that they don't give refunds and that she was trying to correct the situation by replacing the prongs herself.

After talking to an expert, I learned that prongs can only be replaced once or twice at the most. Then the integrity of the mount is in jeopardy.

I have had to take my ring to another jeweler that I have used before but is not in my area. I have learned that a good reputation for quality and service is more important than convenience. Doerner Jewelers? Never again!

Came in to sell my gold and my ex fiancees diamond ring. The gold they didn't pay me anywhere near what i expected. I then asked what i would get for the engagement ring. They were so rude after i decided i didn't want to sell the gold. They kept giving me attitude and telling me that the stone was bad color and clarity and then told me it would cost me 20 bucks to get estimate unless i sell it to them for the price. I walked out and never will come back. I knew for a fact that the ring was good color and clarity because i had a GIA report i accidentally left at home. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
