Yechhhhh

Ok, we wanted to like this place. Lots of room, family friendly, and an extensive menu, highlighted with many seafood choices. However, this meal goes down as one of the worst I have ever had. Let me recount:

1. I ordered sweet tea, and received a nice large plastic, souvenir cup full of unsweetened tea. While our waitress quickly rectified this (apparently, the tea maker had neglected to add sugar to it), it was an omen of things to come. If only we had known.

2. We ordered raw oysters and a crayfish spread appetizer, that would promise to be tasty. Well, since the oysters were undoubtedly shipped raw this week and thawed today, they were as expected. Of course, the expediter forgot to bring horseradish and crackers, but he fixed that quickly.

3. The crawfish appetizer, however, while it had lots of crawfish and 4 nice sized slices of french bread, was pretty much tasteless. Another sign.

3. I ordered stuffed grouper, and my wife mahi-mahi with a spinach/cheese sauce. I also ordered french onion soup and mixed vegetables; my wife ordered potatoes au gratin.

4. We received our entrees promptly (as a matter of fact, before the soup, even), and noticed that the meal was pretty much devoid of taste. Even the lasty-delivered French Soup, a dish tough to serve without some saltiness, managed to be taste free, as though it had been cooked in water. My wife's mahi actually had some taste, but, I would characterize it as bad taste. Even the vegetables were pretty much zapped with taste-free.

5. When the manager (was he?) asked how our meal was and I remarked that it was devoid of any flavor, he became defenseless and told us he'd eaten here every day for five years. Apparently, in the over 1500 meals he has had, he never had one he would consider less than stellar. Or, maybe he has extremely low standards. At any rate, we paid our $60+ tab and started phoning friends to tell them to avoid the food here.

However, if you don't have good TV at home, it'd be a good place to order water (which I assure you will be tasteless) and watch a game. Just don't eat the food.
