In 1982 PDI was established with the goal of providing a distribution system to supply quality perishable products in a cost-efficient and timely manner. PDI is one of the largest food distribution companies delivering to seven states in the Midwest. The company s catalog contains more than 5,000 products, including fresh chicken, fresh beef, fresh pork, seafood, boxed frozen foods, bakery products, cheese, eggs, ice cream, deli products and salads. PDI employs nearly 500 people, with headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa. The PDI loading area has 54 loading dock doors.
