Carolina Optometric was referred to me by my neighbor. He is retired Air Force and said that Dr. Sowa was the most attentive eye doctor he'd ever visited. I checked their website and saw that Dr. Sowa considers himself to be a contact lens specialist. I wear contacts, disliked the ones my previous doctor in Virginia had prescribed, so I decided to give Dr. Sowa a try.



This is the first time I've had the opportunity to try all the types of contacts I wanted to try. I tried mono vision (didn't work for me), I tried bi-focal contacts (didn't work form me), and I tried a couple different types of lenses for astigmatism. One was great and the other was almost perfect, so I finally found the right contacts for me. When it comes to trying contacts, you don't pay for your trial lenses. You don't pay for lenses until you place your order. So, I got to try four different types of contacts and didn't pay for any of the trial lenses.



Dr. Sowa is very nice and personable, as are the people who work in his office. I was never rushed during my appointments and never felt that Dr. Sowa was juggling several appiontments at once.



To beat it all, my contacts cost less than I anticipated, as did my glasses. I found some frames for less thatn $150. They have frames in all price ranges and a lot of styles to choose from.



Also, the exmination was very thorough and checked me for cataracts, macular degeneration and other possible eye issues. I just really like this place and would highly recommend it.
