Department of Microbiology of the University of Georgia is located in Athens, Ga. It offers students a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and undergraduate research programs, including microbial physiology and genetics, cell biology, microbial pathogenesis, ecology, evolution, population biology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. The department provides research programs on a variety of disciplines, such as cell and molecular biology, genomics and proteomics, microbial ecology and evolution, microbial physiology, pathogenesis and immunology, prokaryotic development, structural biology, and gene regulation and deoxyribonucleic acid rearrangement. It holds various seminars throughout the academic session. Department of Microbiology provides state-of-the-art research facilities, library, publications, and aids and scholarships to students.
