a complaint against the Shell station at 2641 Main St, East Point. 08/02, students from Tri-Cities High were preparing for first day as volunteer workforce. They took a break for snacks. This is when they were accosted by an employee.
The following is, in part, from a student: I am an...African American female at Tri-Cities High ... I was racially profiled at Shell station on Main St. students and I were helping the school prepare for the school year. We went to get snacks. One black male walked in store to get money off of ATM card. But, asst manger said 1 person at a time as there was 1 black male in there. Then, he came and asked 2 Hispanics with us if they were Mexican they said yes he says they can come in, asst manger refused the black male and told all of us to get out, we needed to get money, but he said not his problem. We called EPPD but the officer couldn't do anything- its not against the law to refuse service... T. East Point (name changed -student is a minor) BOYCOTT!
