Southgate Elementary School serves more than 450 students in grades one through five. It is a part of Austin Public Schools Independent School District 492, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Southgate Elementary School s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. It supports a variety of extracurricular programs in art, music and physical education. The school s staff includes teachers, specialists, counselors, psychologists, teaching assistants, Title I instructors and social workers.
