Dr. Sahetya is a specialist in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of acute respiratory failure, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Her research focuses on ARDS and the optimization of mechanical ventilation for patients with acute respiratory failure.Dr. Sahetya received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University and earned her M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. During fellowship, she obtained a Masters of Health Sciences (M.H.S.) in Clinical Investigation from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She joined as Johns Hopkins faculty in 2018.
