Absolutely horrendous and corr...

Absolutely horrendous and corrupt service; DO NOT bring your car here. I had already heard bad things about this place before I brought my car here. My father had a car repaired here a few years ago, and when he looked at the bill afterwards, they had one item charged for replacement which apparently includes several smaller items, and then BESIDES that item several of the smaller sub-items were CHARGED SEPARATELY AS THEIR OWN ITEMS.

My brother brought a recently purchased car to repair for inspection here, and they told him it would be $1,000 to repair a leak in the steering column. He went to a local store and bought stop-leak fluid for $5 and he hasn't had any issues in the 2 years since he bought it. Would their method have been more reliable? Maybe, if you could know they wouldn't "discover another issue" along the way. But wouldn't you be willing to spend $5 instead of $1,000 on that chance?

Having been advised by my father, I didn't want to bring my car here last week, but my power steering just failed on me right outside the shoppers in the shopping center, and I didn't realize I had free towing through Geico, so I figured, maybe it won't be a big deal and they won't scam me (they can't do it EVERY TIME, can they?). Well, I should've gotten it towed, even had I needed to pay for towing. I got a diagnostic done and they told me it would be $500 to fix the serpentine belt and another piece that I think helps it run (can't think of the name off-hand). I'm not sure if this was a fair price or not, but I figured, for $500, I might as well try to drive the car to my usual shop without the power steering (it would only need 2 turns on the road to get there). So I went in and they gave me a bill for $150 for the diagnostic. I don't know much about cars, and I'm not very argumentative, so I just accepted the cost (they didn't tell me it would be that much beforehand). I went to the car and now it wouldn't start. I also noticed this giant plastic piece just sitting on the floor of my passenger seat, and I was just thinking, what in the world did they do? So I got the car towed to the other shop, and to make a long story short, it took them several hours to realize that the plug for the ignition coil had simply been....unplugged. And the plastic piece that I had seen was a cover for a part of the engine that was unnecessary to remove to do the diagnostic done. And the mechanic was outraged that shell had charged $150 for a diagnostic that should take 10 minutes - he said people get upset at him when he charges $25 for diagnostics. So not only did they overcharge me for the diagnostic, they also took apart my car in a way that had zero relevance to the diagnostic needed and required hours of work from another shop to repair (luckily I don't think the second shop will charge me much for this time). The second shop is the Sunoco on the corner of Clarks Lane and Reisterstown. Although the Sunoco wasn't great about calling me back, they are HONEST. The Greenspring Shell is owned by COMPLETE CROOKS. When I tried to call them about what they did during this diagnostic and that they overcharged me, they started making up excuses about how these tests needed to be done, and maybe the plug got unplugged while driving, and the cover may have needed to be removed (of course he just ignored the fact that his mechanics didn't put this part back in the engine after the diagnostic was done). These were three events happening all within the same family; I wonder how many people have they scammed?

And if you speak to them, you may not suspect them at all - they sound very friendly and professional, and what they say will sound like it makes a lot of sense, and yet somehow you will be left with a very light wallet when you walk out the door. For the good of mankind (yes, it's that epic), don't take your car to the greenspring shell!

Talk a good game, but beware!!

I've taken my car there a few times because they were close to home and wanted to give them a chance. Anyhow up to today they were not too bad except someone put a nice scratch on my side door. Now the doosie is, take truck in for oilchange and tire rotation only. Was asked, do you want the balance twice. Said no because balance was perfect before. I've rotated my tires on 2 of my vehicles for years and never ever had a problem. And when i had the dealer rotate, never a problem. Of course they screwed it up and tell me it's because I didn't do the balance. Whatever...

THIEVES- Taking advantage of the Jewish community.

Shysters!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!! Took my car there for a basic inspection. The car was perfect and already had an out of state inspection done recently. They failed the cars inspection and said it needed about 2,000 dollars worth of work to get it done. This car only has 40,000 miles on it and has never been in any accidents. After picking up my car, there was a serious leak that they caused to get me to pay for things it didnt need. They bent my transmission dipstick so I cant check my fluid. There was also money missing from my cupholder. They stole 2 of my kids toys as well. They pray on white collar people and try and get over on all the Jewish community in the area because they think we dont know any better. Brought the car somewhere else after I fixed what they broke and it passed on the first shot. THIEFS!!!!!!!!
