Finally I called this place we took kitty up there signed off so we weren't responsible but they would try to save her or at the worst put her out of misery :( they took her in nobody else takes a stray this place was great clean friendly and thanked us for not leaving her to die I only met kitty for a short time but I couldn't walk away from her suffering and they really care !!! Go there with your pet you will see. I thought about how cold and rainy it was last night I am sure kitty was in safe caring hands

Provided by YP.comThis a GREAT speciality hospital!! The doctors and staff are professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. This hospital provides very advanced medical care for your furry friends.
I do sympathize with those who have lost their friends(Traci_s). We must remember that it is not the medicine, doctors or nurses that cause the diseases, they are here to help. Anger is a part of the grieving process. A university doing "a" study does not mean that it is a good option for everyone, surviving and living are not the same.

Provided by YP.comI had a very poor experience here, I had taken my 11 yr old 3 pound yorkie there as we suspected she had cushings..Dr Rice saw her, did tests and said "I dont think she has cushings" She had us see Dr Kidney a dermatologist there that did 2 painful skin graphs to further see if she was suffering from cushings. 2 whole weeks go by and NOTHING..no call, no nothing. I called several times to get the test result updates and all I got was a rude, disconcerned receptionist that couldnt have cared a less. After my 5th call or so I got someone who said " OH Dr Kidney was out all last week, thats why you didnt get any answers"... So 2 days later Dr Kidney calls and says "your test results are back and it is cushings" The truth is she was out of the office and didnt bother to have one of the other dermatologists call or update me. This joke of a place will NOT be treating my little yorkie. I will be taking her elsewhere for treatment. OVRS is money hungry, all they care about is $..they dont care about you or your pet...that is absolutely the perception. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted with both doctors we saw there. One convinces us that she doesnt have it and gives us false hope (so i dont want her treating her) then the other could care a less and the receptiont(s) females the male was very nice should be fired!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE..AND DISCONCERN FOR THE ANIMAL AND OWNER., Avoid this place if you love your pet. PS. I wish I could give 0 stars..they dont deserve 1 star................

Provided by YP.comPlease do NOT take your animal to this clinic. Or... if you must, make sure you get a second opinion (outside of this clinic) on treatment options. Dr. Sara Snow lied to my family about the treatment options for our 10 year old dog. Our dog had an adrenal mass that had invaded her vena cava. She was in critical condition and we told them numerous times that we wanted them to do everything possible to save her life, and that money was not an issue. They ran multiple tests and told us she was dying and there was nothing that could be done. Dr. Snow said that our only option was to euthanize her or take her home, in which case she would die a slow, painful death. We asked multiple times if there was anyone else in the country that would do surgery on her to try and remove the mass and repair her vein. Dr. Snow told us that technology simply did not exist for animals. We asked two other doctors at the clinic, and they all said that nothing could be done either.
We ended up making the gut-wrenching decision to euthanize our dog, thinking it was the humane thing to do (she was suffering). A few weeks later, after talking with another veterinarian about the tumor, he came across a study from Ohio State, that indicated they would have performed this surgery on her. All we needed to do was get her from Michigan to Ohio. Her chance of survival could have been up to 50%, and we would have taken any odds just to at least try and save her life.
When we confronted Dr. Snow about the situation, all she would say is that she was sorry. They didn't tell us about the surgery because they didn't think it was the right choice for our dog. They forced us to make the most horrible decision any person should have to make. She looked us in the eyes and lied to us. My dog was like my kid. I had raised her from the time she was 10 weeks old. And, I trusted them to save her life, and now I have to live with the fact that I trusted the wrong people to care for my dog and now she's gone. It's highly unethical what they did to us and Dr. Snow (or any of the staff for that matter) is not fit to care for anyone's animals.

Provided by YP.comPlease believe me , this is the worst place to go, customer service is very bad.....they just not milk the clients pretty bad but also very bad for simple stuff. They befool the clients by using scare tactics and also tell that their original vet did not did good stuff. They have lot of overhead expenses and they will get you by any means if you go there. So Please think a million times before going there. Its a honest opinion.

Provided by YP.comA review I wrote on a different website was taken down without my knowledge so I'll be adding one here. Potentially fatal mistakes were made with my pet during their stay at OVRS. OVRS called and apologized but mistakes of this nature are simply unacceptable. I would not trust the staff at OVRS with any animal and I would highly advise to go elsewhere.

Provided by YP.comGet a second opinion Please!!! OVRS wanted to charge me $440 for a chemo tablet every three weeks to save my dog that has cancer. I went to a highly respected vet in Sterling Heights for a 2nd opinion. He charged me $30 for a consultation (compared to $120 at OVRS!!!!) plus he is charging me $100 every 4 weeks for the tablet!!! How can they get away with that!! They prey on the love we have for our animals and the $ we are willing to spend. Sick!!! I will tell everyone I know not to go there. The other vet is going to remove his mass tumor cell and lymph node that is filled with cancer for $600. Again get a second opinion!!!!

Provided by YP.comUnless your animal is dying and you have NO other choice DO NOT take them to this place. They attempted to charge us almost $2000 on a kitten which I found out later was 3 times the going rate. I had to decline with my 12 year old daughter crying her eyes out because I didn't have that much. They offered to "take the cat off my hands" and I had no choice or she would have died. I found out later the cat was a rare breed and worth quite a bit to breed out. No wonder they made the offer. My girl still cries when she thinks about it.

Provided by YP.comWARNING - PREDATORY PRICING!! Get a quote FIRST before agreeing to any procedure being performed. Then compare with other vets, as you'll find charges up to 3x more for services here. If it means saving your pets life on a Sunday night, you may have no choice but to shell out very big $. Otherwise, go elsewhere for reasonable vet charges.

Provided by YP.comIf you care about your pet and want to keep him/her DO NOT take them here. I took
my dog here because he needed surgery or he would die, and my vet wasn't equipped to do it. O.V.E.R.S was the nearest animal hospital. they said it would cost 3 to 5 thousand dollars for the operation. When I explained I could not afford that. They quickily said they had a vet tech that was willing to take him or we could surrender him, and they would pay for the surgery and then would adopt him out for us. I had to ask if there was another vet that could do the surgery for less, apparently they didn't think that should be my first option. For a place who claims to love animals and preaches animals are a part
of the family they were very quick to offer to take my dog from me. I spoke to my breeder and told her this and she informed me that there are places that see a pure breed puppy and hike their fees up so high that you feel your only option is to surrender your pet. Then the re-sell you pet for a profit. I am highly suspicious that O.V.R.S is one of these places. I was able to find a vet hospital that made room for my dog the same day that I called and only charged $800.00 which included two days in the hospital, his take home medication and a weeks worth of special food. I went to Wilson Veterinary Hospital in Washington MI. The staff was wonderful and treated me and my family with care and respect. They were truly concerned and wanted to help us in any way they could. I would highly recommend them, and they have my business for all my pet needs from now on.

Provided by YP.comOakland Vet is extremely helpful. There have been times I have called and the staff is so compassionate with information and with staying on the phone as long as I needed. I have brought my dog twice for emergency care and they have been great. They also have been very honest with whether or not I need to come in to them or if it can wait for my vet. They are wonderful!!!!
