Most fair and honest child psychologist out there. I had a very contested and complex custody battle. But, Dr. Shapiro did a very fair and in depth investigation and analysis. He was able to uncover truths that no one before him was able to, which clearly showed who was doing the wrong things. He does not make a child fatherless... That's completely WRONG statement!!! If you have not done anything wrong, you don't need to fear his assessment. Again, I would highly recommend him!!!!

Statements like he in it money or corrupt , are completely false. He is the most fair psychologist out there.

He awarded custody to a parent who had 3 fraudulent lawsuits! Then she tried to sue someone using her own child! This is one bad custody evaluator. It’s called child neglect! Corruption and a bad custody evaluator get someone else. He was at his door truck or treating when he did his evaluation. First fraudulent lawsuit 200k. Didn’t you ask Dr Shapiro. The doctors at Morris IPD were part of all the fraudulent lawsuits. Now my daughter is caught up in med fraud! Ty!!!
My ex tried suing Coal City school district with false medical conditions. She did the same thing in 2001 for 200k. This doctor was told this. Who awards custody to a criminal. This isn’t sour grapes. My daughter is being neglected by false medical claims undergoing surgeries and biopsy’s for no valid medical reasons. This is the joker who recommended residential. Too many Oprah visits as my daughter is in truancy for 5 plus years. It’s called child abuse!!

Great experience. Dr. Shapiro was the only one that would listen to me during my custody case. A true professional.

I don't typically review places, but I was looking for his phone number and saw these reviews. I think they must be prompted by some severe cases of sour grapes. Due to a lengthy custody battle, my ex and I had THREE full evaluations done by different psychologists. By far, the least biased in either of our favors was Dr. Shapiro's. Hands down, it was the most fair to both. As such, the judge weighed it heavily and said she holds his reports in high esteem because of his reputation for being factual, less likely to put biased spins on reports, and his interest is always what is best for the child, regardless of which parent is paying. Since then (several years now), I have asked him several questions about the best course of things for my children, and he has called me back and not even charged me. To say he is "lying scum" and "only in it for money" is utterly false. I think custody battles are extremely stressful and they bring out the worst in everyone. Perhaps Dr. Shapiro is just better able to see the truth than parents whose eyes are clouded by rage. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Fathers beware...your child will end up fatherless. His main goal is to make the mother
look good even though she is an evil woman. He will liar in his report and do everything
he can to make the mother look good and to put down the dad. He is a horrible human
being and a real pathetic liar. Absolute scum bag..stay away...

I am sorry there is no option for negative stars! Dr.Shapiro is the worst humans being and custody evaluator known to men! He told lies in his report about me and my children and twisted the truth! He never spoke with anyone close to my mom,my friends,teachers,neighbors before making his decision to take 6 of my children away from me,their mother,and giving me supervised visitations. I wi never have supervised visitations with the children that I always loved,took care of my entire life! My soon to be husband as cruel as Dr.Shapiro and together they falsified the events that happened in my life in the last 2 years! He is also rude and loses his temper when told the turn which he cannot tolerate! He should never be allowed to be a custody evaluator! He doesn't care about the children or what they are telling him! All he cares about is the money,who is paying the money, and writes his report based on lies! Please never hire him to be a custody evaluator! He is a dangerous man! Please help me organize a group to bring his practice down so that he doesnt hurt another child! This person could not be more unfair if were related to my ex wife.
He asked for contact info for my family members so he could get their input, but he never reached out to them. He listened to and gave great weight to highly edited and staged audio recordings between my ex and myself that were illegally recorded by her. He completely misrepresented results of our written testing to somehow conclude that I was less than interested in my children. This was counter to the fact that I never missed a parenting day and was fighting top get more time with them. That pursuit cost me much time, emotional agony and money. I could go on for much longer but will resist that temptation.
He facilitated the alienation of my children from me according to their mother's plan. To this day our relationship is injured. If you are divorced or a divorcing father and care about your children run don't walk from this incompetent charlatan.

This man misrepresents himself from start to finish, so your best bet is to file a report with the state to have him removed from practicing and ruining lives. Just writing a review is not enough to stop this fraud, you have to file a report stating his fraudulent behavior...he is a joke to the profession. Doesn't matter what you say or do in his presence, he has all the power to skew it in the favor of whomever is paying his fee.

I normally don't write reviews good or bad but when I seen these horrible reviews I couldn't be quiet. Dr Shapiro is a wonderful man and is very professional. He has helped my brother in so many ways. My brother has won full custody for his son and it was a long trial. Dr Shapiro seen that what was best for my nephew was to let my brother have custody he actually testified to the facts the truth and genuinely cares about people. I just can't believe that he would do anything against the best interest of a child or lie on the stand. Maybe some people just can't handle the truth. I can only speak about our experience with this wonderful man,it was and still is a pleasure He is the best

The worst part about this man is that he will make sure your child(ren) are fatherless. HE doesn't care about anyone but himself. HE GETS PAID TO LIE. Keep that in mind when you are with him. Best to either say nothing or record the conversations. His report will NOT reflect what actually took place in his office. He is disgusting inside and out. People who get paid to lie are the lowest form of life. What a disgusting individual. Truly a sick, sick man. What a liar.

READ ALL THESE REVIEWS. The guy is a snake. Do not fall for this caring routine. It's all BS. He is a highly paid fraud who lies through his teeth. How this man sleeps at night is beyond me. He will ruin your kids lives. He has no concept of the truth what-so-ever. If he is assigned to your case, your kids are screwed. He is extremely biased.

I was interviewed for my current husband's previous divorce. Mr Shapiro twisted my words around to make it sound as though I said something I did not intend. He is a crook! He is unethical! You know who I am Mr. Shapiro, you called me in Georgia. You don't deserve to be called Dr. as you are unethical and seem to only write to favor who paid for you (the ex wife). It seems you wrote a book and no longer believe in what you wrote (that's what you told the court...wasn't it?)...You represent your ethnic stereotype! For the sake for children involved in divorces, do what you were educated to do and correct; not what you were paid for!
