Badger Clark Elementary is located in Box Elder, S.D., and offers a variety of academic programs and extracurricular activities to students in grades kindergarten through first. Its Title 1 program provides remediation for students who are educationally deprived in the areas of reading and mathematics. Its English as a second language program instructs students in the English language and provides an instructional program to further develop language for the individual child and their needs. Its special education teachers work with students whose potential fall below average. Its speech pathologist serves children who have problems with vocabulary, sentence structure, word-endings, sound structure and pragmatics. Its counselors assists in meeting special needs of students, promoting a positive school atmosphere, counseling individual children, meeting with small groups, teaching life coping lessons in the classrooms and helping in a crisis.
