I work based on an hourly rate. Because NO TWO grants are exactly alike. I’VE found it is fairer for everyone involved to utilize this structure rather than ONE flat rate for ALL proposals. However. I DO distinguish MY fees between development for private foundations and STATE/FEDERAL grant applications. This price difference is DUE to the fact government applications almost always require a higher level of detail. More research and information – and a little more RED tape. When a client contacts ME to write a specific grant. I review the RFP and provide an estimate based upon HOW long I believe it will take ME to complete. I CAN Also provide a "NOT to exceed price" AS part of that estimate. Upon acceptance of the quote, a contract will then BE sent. AS a quick guide. I CAN complete most private foundation proposals in 20 30 hours. While STATE/FEDERAL applications are around 35 50+ hours. Depending on the complexity of the guidelines.
