I wanted to surprise my nephews with a gift certificate for $75 to this bowling alley, as they live in a small town nearby. They gladly took my money for the certificate over the phone by debit, saying they would send it in the mail the following day. NINE phone calls, many excuses, and a month later, I am STILL trying to get the gift card! And the kicker is, is that after a few calls of dealing with the same person (I was being patient and giving them the benefit of the doubt that it could be a postal service issue, etc), I asked to speak to the manager. I was speaking to the manager, they said. I asked then to speak to the owner, and the response was "I am the owner." I would think that the owner would be trying to rectify this issue, as a business owner, instead of giving me excuses! I called again tonight, only to have someone who sounded like the same person/owner say that they were not available. This is ridiculous. I came from a small town whose business owners took pride in small town customer service. If I did not live two hours away, I would go there myself and demand the gift card, but I don't want to waste more money on gas doing that. If my nephews did not enjoy bowling as much as they do, I would definitely demand my money back (but doubt I would ever get it since the card always finds its way not to get to my house after giving them my address 3 times) and give some other place in broken bow my patronage. I cannot express how utterly disappointed I am with this experience and my frustration with this so-called business owner. Better business bureau, the BB chamber of commerce, and the police (for theft) will be contacted.
