He received his M.D. and completed his nephrology clinical fellowship at the University of Iowa.Dr. Ploth’s research interests are in renovascular hypertension, specifically the renal mechanisms involved in the initiation and maintenance of elevated blood pressure in both experimental and clinical settings. He is also the editor of the American Journal of Medical Sciences.
