Albemarle Housing Improvement Plan, founded in 1976, is a nonprofit housing and community development organization assisting low-income residents in Albemarle County and Charlottesville in Virginia to live in safe and affordable houses. Its programs and services include emergency home repairs, first-time homeownership plans and rehabilitation services and provides more than 95 apartments and over 12 single-family homes. It is licensed by the state of Virginia as a Class A contractor and a lead-based paint abatement contractor. It is recognized and certified by the state as a Community Development Housing Organization and is headquartered in Charlottesville, Va.
