The UVa Department of Neurology is a research and treatment center for disorders affecting the nervous system. It is one of the top 20 centers ranked by the U.S. News & World Report in the United States. The department offers treatment services for Alzheimer s and Parkinson s disease, stroke, child neurology, brain cancer, neuropathology, neurosurgery and neurophysiology. In addition, the UVa Department of Neurology also treats epilepsy, headache, Huntington s disease, movement disorders and multiple sclerosis. Located in Charlottesville, Va., it maintains a 30-bed adult neurologic inpatient service unit that conducts a range of diagnosis and treatment of a variety of neurologic diseases.
