Wanted to do a repair that was not needed



If repair had been done would have charged me $200.00 more than another estimate.

Bought 4 tires, and immediately after I left, I smelled strong fumes. The check engine light came on, I took it to another shop and they found that the oil cap was off and oil had spilled all over the engine. Despite the oil spilling, the oil was still over a quart over full. I went back to University Tire and Auto and they denied ever touching the oil, but then later we saw paperwork that showed they did an oil check. Their explanation was that the oil cap was already off and it just so "happened" that I smelled the fumes after leaving their shop. I consulted 2 independent auto shops and they both said the explanation provided was extremely improbable, and that the only explanation could be that University Tire and Auto made a mistake, which would explain why all the problems started immediately after leaving their shop. The manager was very condescending. He paid me lip service, but never offered any other explanation or cared about providing customer service. Awful place!

Our truck was not driving well. It was obvious the transmission had a serious problem. The technician and manager of the store were upfront with us about the problems and the work that the truck would need. Based on their great information and advise, we were able to make a educated, money-wise and time saving decision about our vehicle. Thank you University Tire at Pantops for excellent customer service. We will continue to take all our vehicles there. Thanks guys!!!

I went in right before they closed and asked them to help me with a oil change. Since I needed to leave this next morning early to go out of town, they did my oil change, check the tire pressure and rotated the tires. They capped off my windshield fluid and gave everything a look over since I was traveling. The manager, Dale, showed me everything they were doing and they were totally upfront with me. They also stayed late to help me when they could have pushed me out the door. On top of it, they only charged me for the oil change! Great service! I'm sending all my friends and family there!
