Have gone twice in the past month. The first visit everything was perfect and delicious.

The second visit, not so much. cold fries seem to be the norm.

I don't know why I even bother with this restaurant chain anymore, I've never had consistent BAD service and food at any other place! I rarely ever eat Steak 'n Shake but it seems the few times I try to give it another try I'm always disappointment by the lack of service (mind you I worked in the service business for 8 years, so believe me when I say I'm not one of these rude people who just dont understand how things work...I do! And I try to base my opinion off of this) today I visited the location off ridge, I ordered a regular shake, and a number 15 (bacon cheese burger and fries) the lady was rude, she asked what I wanted on the burger to which I replied "onions, pickles, mayo and ketchup" she repeated the order back and asked if I wanted mustard on it and I said no (makes no difference really I don't mind mustard, but today I wasn't in the mood for it) I waited for 15 minutes at the window, no one said a word to me as I sat there while a line of cars began to form behind me. I FINALLY got my food and I just assumed it would be fresh since it took so long...once I got back to work and got my burger out I had a hard time even seeing that there was any meat at all on my burger and what was there was very thin HARD gristle (I know that their meat is typically thinner, but this was no where near acceptable) I could also see where they had added mustard then scraped it off. My fries were soggy and all stuck together, I literally just ate the pickles off the burger and that was it, everything else was terrible minus the shake. I paid $9.00 for some pickles and a shake! If it wasn't for the fact I am on my lunch break and quite honestly don't even want them to remake my food I would of gladly went back to complain. This is not the first Steak 'n Shake I have had a terrible experience at...it seems like allowing their staff to give poor service and not take pride in serving their customers is just acceptable, well it's not! I wouldn't of served that to a customer at all, I would much rather of been told it was going to be a few extra minutes for a fresh burger than to wait and receive someone's left overs

This SS location is by far the worst I've been to in the city. Questionable cashiers, who have no clue how to take an order or explain simple menu items. I have been a customer at this location since the Grand Opening and my only complaint in the beginning was inconsistency of the drive-thru. Now everything about the location in horrible. It's a shame really because SS actually has okay fast food.

Friday September 5th, at 4:45 I went thru the drive thru. I ordered from the menu a large cheese fries and a large coke. Easy:?? I was not asked to repeat my order, nor did it come up in the order menu at the speaker. I got to the window and the girl said, $6.18. She gave me back change from a twenty. I questioned the price of the coke because I remembered the fries were $2.99. She gave me a price but said I did not order a coke. She said I ordered a turtle sundae or turtle shake. Something with turtle in it. Anyway, when I pulled over to eat what I finally got, it was an order of fries that had not one fry in it over one inch long. If I had not been so hungry and in a hurry, I would have gone back inside. I was charged $6.18 for someone's "leftovers" and she was extremely rude at the same time. Shrugging her shoulders several times and acting as if I were bothering her! I am going to find it very hard to go back into S&S again for a while, and this is unfair to those who work there and try to please their customers. There are lots of people right now who need jobs, she either needs to be trained or replaced.
