We had significant damage due to a hail storm last year and Hoskins was able to replace our old asbestos tile roof (ecologically safely) with a new steel roof before the bad weather set in in the fall. New window went in as well, very neat and clean. The windows are tight with little air leakage - as per the energy assessment person. Next came our siding - Incredible transformation of our home. It is simply beautiful. Incredible craftsman ship and every detail is seen to. What I loved the most was the courtesy that each of the men showed towards the family. I have had construction workers at my home in the past and although they have never been rude to me, their language when working was atrocious. These men were polite, and kind. They saw to every detail and answered every question, fixed problems...I could go on and on...

Hoskins is a well established business in a small part of the state of Iowa. Enough so that when you think of siding, roof, and windows there name is known. I hired them on that basis - well known so it must be a good company.

Unfortunitly my expectations where not met. From the time of proposal and agreement of my project to the finish date was over 4 months. Start dates were continually moved back and even when they did start work they were constantly coming and going to finish or start other projects. Crews were often different and existed of 1 or 2 men. They had to redo what one crew started on the roof and never seemed to stick to one project. Weather was a factor as they waited too long in the season to do roofing work. One employee - John was the exception. He worked all day in the rain, snow, wind and night to finish his work.

In addition, doors, outdoor lighting, and windows were damaged but when I complained they were "fixed".

I believe that Hoskins has the potential to be a great company if they got back on track. They over book trying to get as much work as possible. In the end - the customers are frustrated with delays, the quailty of work is suffering, and there reputation is failing. When neighbors asked who I had hired to do the work and why they were taking so long I told them Hoskins Siding and Windows. There reply? They have also had problems with this company.
