My father died on January 18,2014. He was at Mother Angeline's. We had a conference with the hospice representative January 16,2014,whom my siblings and I really liked. Our issue is with the hospice nurse. She didn't seem to be adequately trained in the fine art of communication,especially under stressful, trying times---where was the empathy? Instead of saying things like.."I hear what you're saying"..."I'm listening",she got defensive and after storming out of our dad's room...threw her stethoscope on the nurses counter. I understand that working in hospice is a extremely challenging job,especially with such a large family as mine. But I would have thought that hospice gave extensive training in these delicate situations,there was NO sensitivity! The event I'm referring to happened on Friday January 17,2014.
