The Perfect Cheat Meal.

When I moved to the South and later, West-coast, I never missed my Midwest experiences. Except that is, Chicago Pizza among other Chi-Town treats. From the Chicago area, “Cheesecakes Plus More” setup shop in Crossville, TN. Bringing with them, their recipes and techniques and locating inside the “Crossville Outlet Center,” their a bit hit among their Southern patrons. Very welcomed Yankee transplants indeed. I ordered a personal deep dish and a slice of lemon cheese cake. This was an excellent way to break from my vegan regime. I went on to continue shopping. I returned shortly and there was still a slight wait. However, this was hardly noticeable as the friendly and engaging owner shared the history of what brought him and his crew to TN. The Meal was well worth the wait. Regarding the pizza, if you’re familiar with “Connie’s Pizza,” this is much better. The cheesecake was the right balance of lemon taste as well. A taste that visits but doesn’t overstay its welcome. In other words, no aftertaste as with some places that too strongly flavor similar treats. I’ll certainly stop by, next time in town. These are the type of Chicagoans I can deal with. Bring the talent and taste while leaving that annoying Midwest attitude behind.
