First of I need to say that I am not an over zelous "Yelper" of "Rater" unless something is VERY, VERY right or wrong. I ended up at Jacks Brake & Allignment after I experienced an electrical issue only about 2 block away. I basically coasted into their lot. Having never been a customer in the past I thought what the heck. I had a pretty good idea what the electrical issue was about as it had happened once in the past (A critter had chewed some of the wires) ... and... I am no newbie to working on cars as I have restored and maintain numerous antique autos and my personal auto has over 425,000 miles of shop free repairs and is doing just fine... I just happen to hate electrical work and this auto was a company car. Anyway, after requesting a simple computer check, I was informed that I might be looking at sever hundred to possibly over a thousand dollars in wire splicing and repairs. The possibility was brought up that I may simply want to replace the wiring harness altogether. The offer of contacting my insurance company was brought up as with the amounts of repairs needed, it would surely be covered. Once insurance was on the table it was suggested that they drop the engine and transmission to make their axcess more open for repairs...."WHAT" !!! Drop the engine and tranny to repair some wires??? Now again, let me remind you that I am no fool around automotive repair. The smoke and BS was starting to get pretty thick at this point. When I requested to view the damages while the car was up on the hoist, it magically had parked itself on the other side of the garage on the floor... Long story made short so as to not bore you any longer... I requested my bill and keys and headed for the door.

After complaining about the $120.00 / 15 min diagostic fee, they did reduce it down to $89.00 with tax... The end of the story... I had the car towed from their (Jack's) lot on Eastern Ave over to Wallicks on Hickory Grove. My total repair bill with diagostic and tax came to $216.00 and..... was done the next day. My recommendation to you... unless you want to be the "SUCKER"... Stay away from Jack's.
