Parks Old Style Bar-B-Q was founded in May, 1964 by Edward "Terry" Parks, a former postal worker and entrepreneur and Verna Parks, a Detroit Public Schools counselor, as a sole proprietorship. The Company was incorporated in November, 1977. The Parks' purchased the property at 500 Custer St. and built the building that is now known as 7444 Beaubien St. The building has been enlarged and evolved into its current configuration. The ribs I purchased on were very delicious the sides were not to my liking. However the service was extremely poor, the young lady working the register was unbelievably rude and very argumentative. I try to patronize my local businesses to support the city but despite how great the ribs were I will NEVER patronize them again. They also don’t appreciate their Groupon customers placing their orders to the end of the line. A bit of advice to the owner; training your staff is very important, especially the cashiers they’re the face of your business, the first face customers see and that initial contact should be exceptional!

what happened to parks , the meat is always dry and tough, why are they so stingy with the sauce? you have to beg for extra sauce, and then you may have to pay extra. don't they realize that it is the sauce that keeps people coming back.!!! find another bar b que place

Awesome!

Great ribs! My husbands grandparents meet at Parks way back in the day. Great food and great history. I like the sweet sauce better then the hot. The coleslaw is good too! Not my favorite mac n cheese but still decent. Parks is a must!!!

Good Is Great Is Parks?

Yes, yes, yes. This has to be the way that the LORD intended BBQ to be. Seems like Parks is the only to understand that a rub is needed in the meat, spice in the meat & sauce. "I'll take a slab dinner, hot, extra bread, white!"
