During WWII Camp Douglas was the primary prisoner of war (POW) camp for Wyoming. Visit the last remaining building of what was once a square mile, 180-building site; where 2,000 Italian, 3,000 German POWs, and 500 army personnel were accommodated. At the time, the camp was larger than the town of Douglas. Unique highlight: Western murals painted by Italian prisoners and historic photographs.During WWII Camp Douglas was the primary prisoner of war (POW) camp for Wyoming.
