Provided by YP.comMy wife and I tried Umbertos for the first time last week. The service was excellent but the food was not great. The veal and eggplant tasted as if they came out of a cheap frozen dinner. We both liked the atmosphere and heard the pizza was good. As far at the entrees, beware!

Provided by YP.comWe have not been to Umberto's for at least 10 years. We use to go every Friday night for dinner. We knew Umberto's from Long Island, so when we found them in Dunedin, we were overjoyed. While eating there a few times, I noticed small things that shouldn't be overlooked by a restaurant. Once, someone spilled some hot pepper all over the floor and the waitress just ignored it, even though some people were wading in it. What really took the cake was when my wife went to the bathroom and quickly returned and said let's go. She told me that the bathroom was filthy. The sink was very dirty, there was no soap and the bowl itself, had rust rings in it. That was enough for us. As much as we loved the food, we couldn't overlook the dirt, especially thinking about what the kitchen might look like.
We then found out that Corteo's in Palm Harbor was originally connected with Unberto's. They are one and the same family. If you like Umberto's, you'll love Corteo's on US 19. The place might not look like much, but the food is great and it's clean.

Provided by YP.comI've been searching high and low for New York style pizza in Dunedin for many years. Umberto's is the best!
