D. F. Walker Elementary School serves students in grades three through five, and is located in Edenton, N.C. The school offers studies in art, music, mathematics, science and social studies. It serves more than 600 students and employ nearly 25 core teachers. It offers classes in health and physical education, dance, art, music, reading, math and speech. Its character education program includes a monthly letter sent to parents identifying the trait, its definition and suggestions for parents about children. Its guidance services facilitate academic success, social adjustment and self-understanding. The school has a parent involvement to increase awareness in curriculum by enhancing proper communication between home and school.
