Allied furnished materials to a company called Craftsman in Ohio who I contracted to install a new roof on my house. The work was completed in June and I paid the invoice in full on June 27, 2014. On August 13, 2014 I received notification from an attorney that Allied Building Products Corp, 1700 East Nine Mile Rd, Ferndale, MI had put a lien on my property for an amount over $3000. This lien was not valid in that I had already paid the amount I owed Craftsman in full; Allied did not even check prior to placing the lien on me. If you are having work done on your home, you should insure that Allied is NOT the supplier to your contractor unless you want to go through all the trouble and red tape that I had to go through to get the lien removed.
