I recently attended a garden club meeting in the Fitzgerald area, Classic Design Florist demonstrated how to create gorgeous arreangements using greenery that is available in most of our yards. I thoroughly enjoyed their creativity and I can't wait to attend their open house on 12-2.

NOT a Classic Design

My sister used Classic Design Florist for her daughter's wedding. The orders were placed over the phone, they used the website to choose arrangement's they had available from this florist. The bridal nosegay and matron of honor bouquet were a sad excuse for a bouquet. The roses were already turning when they were picked up the morning of the wedding. I feel that this florist took advantage of the fact that the orders were placed over the phone and that my family was from out of town and pretty much had to accept what was given to them at this late date. I would not recommend this florist to ANYONE especially if you have to place an order from out of town, such as for a funeral. I live locally and you can bet I will be letting everyone know how dissapointed we were in the service we received from this florist.

Wedding Flowers

I used Classic Design for my daughters wedding, and could not have been more disappointed. I called them and ordered the brides bouquet that was pictured on their web site since I live 300 miles away. On the day of the wedding, (to late to change) when the flowers arrived, they did not look anything like the arrangement we had chosen, the colors were not the same--only blue and yellow, the original arrangement had pinks, and the bouque was much smaller than orignally discussed. I called the company to tell the owner how disappointed I was and ask why the flowers were not the same, and the price was so high. Two small bouquets, and 5 single rose boutineers were $160. I didn't mind the price when I thought I was getting what I saw on the web site, but when I received two arrangments with 8 yellow roses and some blue aster, I was appalled. Some of the roses, were brown around the edge. The arrangements were bad enough, the bride did not have her pictures taken while holding her bouquet.

Tiny bouquet, big price

I ordered flowers over the phone with the owner of Classic Design Florist for my sisters wedding. We were coming from out of town so I was unable to meet her in person in advance. However, she had beautiful flower arrangements on her website so I decided to trust her. I chose flowers from one of the arrangements on her website and asked her to use those flowers in that arrangement in the bridal nosegay and the matron of honor bouquet. First of all, the arrangements were tiny- nothing close to the size of a traditional bridal nosegay. The bridal nosegays featured on the website are large but this thing was so small it was embarrasing. Also, the arrangement was supposed to be pink tulips, yellow daylillies, yellow roses, and blue delphinium. There was only roses and delphinium. I asked her what happened to the other flowers and she just said "I didn't write those down, I just had blue and yellow written here." Those 2 tiny arrangements were $95 + tax, so basically $100 for flowers that I could have gone to the local grocery store and bought for about $30. I took them back to the church and my mom was horrified. She called the lady on the phone and she said she'd rearrange them if we'd bring them back. But it was time for the photographer to arrive and the florist knew we didn't have time to drive back to Fitzgerald to have her rearrange them. We felt really ripped off and very unsatisfied.
