We drove for over an hour to purchase a used bike from "Tim" at this shop. On the phone he described the bike as in perfect working order, and in fact they had -just- finished a tune up on it.



We canceled our plans and dropped everything to get to Florence and the store before they closed....What a joke.. The front forks were COMPLETELY seized up. When I pointed this out to him he feigned surprise and took it behind the counter where one of the employees proceeded to beat on the forks with a mallet. Then switching to plan "B" tried to jump up and down on the handlebars and in the process ended up slamming the bike onto the ground.



A business that cared about it's customers, especially those who they knew came in from out of town specifically for this bike, would have been up front about the bike. There is no way they could have tuned up the bike without realizing the forks were seized. He either lied to me about the tune up, OR knew about the problem and hoped to pass off the broken bike to me.



We ended up driving over 100 miles just to go home empty handed. The worst part about this situation is that instead of leaving the bike behind the counter to be fixed, they wheeled it back into the showroom!
