My husband and I were looking at selling my car & buying a pre-owned from Lynchburg Mazda. Now, my grandparents bought my car for me when I was 16, and my husband paid cash for his years ago. So we've never dealt with payments & all that. We went in & they asked what our budget was. We told them. We saw 2 that we were interested in & they wouldn't tell us their price, they just said, "It's in your budget". Well, we wanted to know how much they cost. The girl said she was new and had to go inside to ask. Then she asked for my husband's name & SSN. We asked why she needed it & she said they told her she needed it. We told her THREE TIMES not to run his credit, because we were just looking around and didn't want to buy one that night. Well, we waited, waited, and waited some more. Finally, a salesman came in & was commenting on my husband's student loans. "What?" we asked. He said he DID run his credit & when we got mad and informed him that we told them not to, they played dumb & acted like they didn't know. Riiiight. We won't buy a car there!
