Beansprout's After School, Fort Mill's newest After School program, seeks to provide a safe and secure environment where children can learn and explore in a supportive, confidence building atmosphere that promotes physical, emotional, intellectual, creative and social growth. Research based and child focused, the Beansprout Academy curriculum uses a carefully designed process of learning through discovery, called active participatory learning. During active learning, our professional staff encourage children to discover the world around them by exploring and playing. Learning and development are anchored by long-term, trusting relationships with caregivers, who are close at hand to support children as they learn. Beansprout's After School program will provide care and homework assistance for students in grades K - 5. Our typical day will include: afternoon snack, homework assistance (access to computers when necessary), quiet reading time, Small Group Activities, and Open Center "free time" with access to game consoles or board games.
