We went to our appointment with our plans, a list of things we wanted such as flooring, paint colors, plumbing fixures, lights and only a couple of small changes in our plan.
It was not the lowest price we received by no means but he included things like the permit, waterline, temp power, etc and did some extras for us at no charge.
I previously worked in the loan deptment at a bank in NC so I knew how the process worked. Perhaps that's why I had a great experience!!

I totally agree with the below... Rick will give you a low bid to get the job and will give you a dead line he has no intention of keeping.. He knows fully well the building permits are good for a year and when the loan needs to be extended!! He will send a guy or two to work a few hours and drag out the building process as long as possible... I have had issues with cement cracking in , GROUT cracking in my tile shower, shower drains to the corner and not the drain, light switches that operate NOTHING! Septic tank issues one month after moving in. Instead of placing a dumpster at your house for trash disposal he will dig a hole and burn his waste. His "crew" will NEVER put in a full days work on your property, let alone a full week!! If I can keep anyone from making this mistake then I am more than happy to do this!! I would not use Rick nor would I use the majority of the sub-contractors he uses!!! As the title suggest " IF YOU USE THIS GUY AFTER READING THIS IT IS YOUR FAULT". YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE!!!

I�m so glad that I can post a review online so a lot of people can read this. The quality of his work is awful! This is how he operates. First, he will undercut everyone�s bid to get the contract. Next, he will take forever to build your house. He will have two guys come out and work on it just enough to have a little something done. Eventually you will have to ask the bank for an extension on your home loan so he can finish. Rick knows that you can get a couple of extension for �unforeseen circumstances�, but then the bank will finally say you that have to close on your loan by a certain date or you will lose your interest rate! Now, Rick Kirby construction will hurry up and finish your house right before the closing date on your loan doing a half azz job! You will have dead bolts that don�t line up, concrete that�s not laid right, door knob protectors falling off the wall, light switches that don�t connect to anything, the list goes on and on. I wish someone would have posted something like this before I made the mistake of using this company!
