Ashutosh Shukla, MD, is an associate professor and the director of the advanced chronic kidney disease, or CKD, and Home Dialysis Program within the division of nephrology at the University of Florida. He is a staff physician with the North Florida South Georgia Veteran Healthcare System. He also serves as the chairperson of the National VA Peritoneal Dialysis Workgroup and the co-chair of the VA Peritoneal Dialysis Choice, Access and Quality Workgroups. Dr. Shukla is an expert in advanced CKD, kidney failure or end stage renal disease (ESRD, and home dialysis therapies. He has established a unique patient-centered CKD-to-ESRD transition model at UF Health and the VA Medical Center. His research is focused in the area of advanced chronic kidney disease, high morbidity and mortality associated with the CKD, transition to end stage renal disease (ESRD), and home dialysis therapies with ongoing projects in translational, clinical and health services research.
