I have been teaching skydiving...

I have been teaching skydiving for over 15 years and worked at many drop zones. Almost all drop zones require nonrefundable deposits. Gold Coast asks for a $50 nonrefundable deposit.

What some people don't understand is with skydiving, many lose their nerve which causes the drop zone a loss. By having a deposit it shows they are serious about the jump. The deposit is also part of the price and is not an extra fee. Skydiving is also an outdoor sport so it's dependant on weather as well as safety. If the weather is bad or any safety issues arise, the drop zone will have to reschedule. Some people get all upset and resort to childlike rants about uncontrollable circumstances. You sure would not want to jump unless EVERYTHING is acceptable for your jump. I have jumped all the drop zones around the area and they all put safety first. Please don’t let people like this hinder your decision to come out and jump anywhere in our area.
