I took a nice size muley buck (~6-7 yrs old) here this week. I saw the price on the website to process a deer ($100), and assumed that it was so high because, "Game On The Go (GOTG) will travel to your home and process your deer, elk, or antelope in front of you." I also assumed it would be a little cheaper since I traveled across town, dropped the iced deer off, and then drove back across town four days later to pick it up...not the case. Instead, I paid the full $100 for less than 40 lbs of meat.
Just a few points of assessment: (1) You decide, but it seems to me like I overpaid...especially for not doing what he advertises and still charging $100 to process a deer, (2) The packaging materials: Other local processors will vacuum-seal and indicate weights and dates on each package, all for a significantly lower price. This guy uses the standard wild game meat bags you can buy from the store. If you've used these before, you know that it is easy to leave little chunks of meat near the openings. Such was the case with these...could have done a better job cleaning up the scraps from the packaging material...again, $100, (3) He works out of his garage (a little cluttered). I'm not sure what he does on warm days...maybe ice chests. Most processors have a source of refrigeration, (4) He said he wanted to start his business because of a bad experience with a local processor but didn't share specifics.

Today a buddy of mine picked up his meat from the Chop House. He paid $20 less than me, got 20 lbs more than me from a deer 2 years younger, and he got it 2 days quicker. Probably take my next animal there.
