As an employee who was shocked and in love with how beautiful the facility was. Anybody who is looking for childcare or employment, needs to keep looking. It IS beautiful. The Reggio/Amelia natural approach towards learning is an absolutely fabulous idea. However as an employee, I was frequently dealing with leaving about every other week. Purely because of the poor management, and treatment of the staff. There is LOTS of favoritism, and if you need help the boss/owner is hardly ever there. I was frequently over ratio, while management knew and was told to “stick it out”. Even though that’s illegal. The snacks in the afternoon as well as majority of the lunches were an actual joke. We’re talking like, half a cheese stick or two pieces of pepperoni for a two year olds afternoon snack type of joke. My kids were ALWAYS asking for more because it never filled up their bellies, but I wasn’t allowed to give anymore. They don’t actually utilize the Reggio/Amelia approach until the children get to be about 3 or 4 years old. However they use it as a big selling point. They are always understaffed purely because the management is so awful to the employees. Which means the teacher turnover rate is very high. There are no raises, no discounts on childcare, and when you put your two weeks in ALL vacation is voided. As a teacher, if you value your mental and financial health, I do not recommend it purely because of how management treats everyone. As a parent, if you want your child to be with the best, I recommend you keep looking and save some time, money, AND stress. The Voyage is all looks, there’s no actual beneficial substance there.
