Established in 1998, Hawthorne Elementary offers classes from prekindergarten through grade five. It operates in a shared governance model and consists of several leadership committees that operate collaboratively to address operational and instructional programs. The school s beta club is a service project organization that helps the community through fundraisers. Located in Hampton, Ga., the school also operates a club that supports and educates young girls. It also organizes team building activities, self-esteem seminars, field trips and professional development activities. Additionally, the school offers student services, including insurance and dental. Its counseling team plans and implements a preventative developmental guidance program. Hawthorne Elementary is a part of the Clayton County Public Schools that serves more than 50,000 students.
