Please just go! Kid friendly and they know everyone by name. Relax in the massage chair with some tea or coffee. Charge your phone and enjoy the beautiful view. When your treatment is done; take a pic with your candy and wine if you’re an adult. I would recommend everyone! It was a breeze to get them to fit me in on days I had cleaning appts with my dentist who was conveniently behind the office. I loved that they are up to date on technology with the iPad sign in. They will be missed.

Hi, my name is Jacob and my JRO story began about a year ago. I have always been treated professionally, exceptionally, and with great care by Dr. Scarbourough and his staff. It wasn't until I began treatment with Makenzie that I was a lot more excited to come to JRO and bring my little brother, Nicholas. It's very important to me that people treat Nicholas with kindness and compassion because people see him a little differently. He has Down syndrome and doesn't always have the best acceptance.
Makenzie makes me and Nicholas smile every time we have an appointment with JRO and is always so kind and respectful. She will go out of her way to help both of us feel special and accepted.
I highly recommend James River Orthodontics for your orthodontic treatment. I am almost done with treatment and my teeth look great!

The best customer service ever! The staff is so friendly I want to work there. I love the flavored water and Starbucks station and my daughter loves the iPads to play on & frozen yogurt station when shes done.

At almost 50, with encouragement of my 16-year-old niece, I decided to get orthodontics. I wish I hadn’t waited so long! I actually smile now during pictures! Dr Scarborough and his staff, especially Steph, has encouraged and supported me throughout the entire process! I am so happy that I came to JRO!

The new patient process is excellent! Dr. Scarborough was able to use superior dental technology to educate me on my smile and create personalized treatment options. The staff was very welcoming and are clearly passionate about helping patients achieve their smile goals. I left informed and excited to begin my journey to a better smile! I can't wait for my next visit!

I love JRO, everyone who works there is very nice and respectful. They are very gentle and make sure nothing they do hurts you. Also, JRO has always worked with my schedule since I go to school three hours away. Everything about this establishment is great!

Everyone at JRO is so nice and made me feel very comfortable. I have fun when I go there, it doesn't feel like a doctors visit at all. It was uncomfortable getting them on but didn't hurt and someone was talking to me the whole time to get my mind off of my mouth stretching! I love the way my braces look. Two of my back ones hurt and I went in and they took them off. Now everything is healed and fine. I am excited for my new smile and I look forward to going back to change my colors and get some froyo!

Everything about the process was so easy and everyone was so helpful. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Dr. S and his staff are the BEST...........they are welcoming, accommodating, very knowledgeable and caring. My youngest was very wary and concerned over getting braces and the staff eased in and set his mind to rest.

As always, Dr. Scarborough and his staff were wonderful. Theyre always willing to go above and beyond for me and always with a smile! (Pardon the pun!). Ive been a patient for almost two years and, as an adult who is doing a second round of orthodontic treatment, I cant say enough positive things about JRO.

From day one it has been amazing! The entire staff is so awesome to work with.

Everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful to our family. My daughter had significant anxiety about the appointment, but Dr. Scarborough and the whole staff put her at ease. One challenging aspect was that my daughter's rubber band was placed right on a cavity that was going to be filled the very next week. Because our general dentist had referred us and shared records, I expected JRO to be aware of this and communicate what that would mean for us- in terms of appointments, and for my daughter given her anxiety about going to appointments. Unfortunately, we had to return to the office to have the rubber band replaced at their next earliest appointment, which was 7 days later. I expect this was an anomaly and am happy to continue with Dr. Scarborough and his staff.

I have three girls in braces and they absolutely love going to James River Orthodontics. The office is attractive and inviting, the staff is fun and always remember details about my girls' lives and the FroYo is always a treat! JRO is an amazing place. My experience here has been great! The staff are so welcoming and the doctor is so friendly. They explain everything from start to finish. I would highly recommend JRO for anyone considering invisalign. I am more then half way finish with my invisalign journey. JRO has made this experience a great one.

I love all the girls who work there, they are all so bubbly and nice. I also love the hot chocolate and fro yo. Everyone at JRO makes me feel like family. I was hesitant for invisilign, but with JRO it has been smooth sailing.

We absolutely love JRO. After choosing this practice at the recommendation of our dentist, we could not be happier. My son was hesitant to begin treatment but everyone has made the experience so great! From the amazing staff to the coffee and yogurt bar to the last touch, this practice does it right!! Ive heard from friends that go to other practices and Im so glad we chose the best! Thank you to everyone for making braces less painful all around!
