In 1987 I was very sick in Phila.so sick I couldn't walk, loss 100lbs. Couldn't breathe or hold my 3 month old daughter. There was a young intern Peter Shaftel that took care of me it's been 26 yrs. thats how old my daughter is now. The University of Pennsyvania saved my life thank you I'm 50 now married with 2 adult children,6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Finding out that my sickness was sarcoidosis changed my life. We moved to a much warmer climate North Carolina. Dr. Shaftel probably doesn't even remember me but I well always remember him.
