The company is a family-owned, national manufacturer of residential and commercial roofing products, including waterproofing, cements and coatings. Its other products include cap sheets, base sheets, flashing and adhesive, all of which are available via a nationwide network of independent distributors and dealers. The company was founded in 1944 by E.L. Craig and is named after the first letters of the five states he originally envisioned serving: Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. TAMKO is headquartered in Joplin, Mo., and operates district sales offices and manufacturing facilities in Frederick, Md.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Dallas; Denver; Phillipsburg, Kan.; and Knoxville, Tenn.
