“I always loved science and thought I might pursue a career in that area,” says Dr. Jonathan Martinek. Four years after completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. Martinek’s desire to work with people led him to enter medical school to pursue a career in medicine. He has a special interest in diabetes management, psychiatry and in-office dermatology procedures.The love and support of Dr. Martinek’s wife, Katey, and two children, Jake and Lucy, are his biggest influences. In his spare time, he enjoys fly-fishing and spending most of his summers in Southwest Michigan at his family’s lake house, which has always felt like home to him.I enjoy my job because it allows me to form personal relationships with my patients and their families. Family Medicine is challenging, but also very gratifying because we are working together towards a common goal- a healthier, happier life.
