Founded in 1961, FFR Co-operative is an inter-regional cooperative providing plant breeding and agronomy services to its cooperatives in support of their seed brands and agronomy programs. The co-operative's members and affiliated regional cooperatives market seed products and services throughout most of the agriculture production areas of the United States and eastern Canada. Based in Lafayette, Ind., it specializes in conducting research programs for forage, corn and wheat that involves collection and identification of the appropriate germplasm, conducting crosses and selecting the hybrid parents and varieties that demonstrate desired characteristics. Additionally, FFR Co-operative works with other partners in industry to provide field research services, specializing in the eastern US.
