My family brought in 4 cats, 2 male, 2 female, to be spayed and neutered using the SNSI program service for those who are low income. We brought the two outdoor/feral cats in first, and told the staff that the other two cats were NOT feral and were our indoor PETS(this should have been noted on their chart which was started at that time) Under SNSI feral cats are to have one ear notched (tip cut off) and this was done. However, when we brought the other two INDOOR cats in for surgery, a couple of weeks later, they ended up notching their ears as well. I was told by staff that they ASSUMED that because the first two were feral that the second two were as well. Apparently the paperwork was not filled out completely/properly and when I asked why, if there was any confusion as to whether or not they should have their ears cut, they didn't take two minutes to pick up the phone and call us to double-check BEFORE surgery, I got no real answer and was made to feel like it was somehow my fault. Now our cats are disfigured. No business should ever assume anything...especially if it deals with surgery on animals. The vet/staff did nothing to make up for their mistake. When I called in a week later after one of my (indoor) cats developed a hernia from surgery and asked if the vet would do the 2nd surgery for free to make up for their previous mistake I was told absolutely no by the staff. Not only do they not care to make up for the mistake THEY made, but they keep insisting that somehow my family caused the mistake. I will never send another pet to this clinic. It's unfortunate that they are the only clinic in the area to accept SNSI. I urge caution in using this clinic.
