PHILLIPS School is a special educational facility that serves children with multiple disabilities, behavioral problems, emotional difficulties, learning disabilities, mental disorders and autism. Its support staff includes behavioral, reading and technology specialists, career education personnel, speech and language therapists, counselors, psychologists and social workers. The school offers various individual and group services from September through June. It specializes in providing home-based counseling, mentoring, family therapy, case management and crisis stabilization services. The school is accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities and is a member of the National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children and the Maryland Association for Non-Public Special Education Facilities. PHILLIPS School, with a location in Laurel, Md., also has an educational facility in Annandale, Va.
