Dr Pearl became a doctor because she wanted to be a leader for minority women and help improve their health outcomes. She grew up in a Hispanic household in Southern California where she experienced first-hand her family members’ fears around illness and their health. She wants to empower minority women, who face increased risks for illness, to better understand their own health.
