Founded in 1947, Owens Elementary is spread over an area of more than 18 acres. It serves over 500 students from kindergarten through grade six. The school offers special courses in speech pathology, music, art and band. Its staff includes teachers, media specialists, counselors, bookkeepers, child nutritionists and instructional assistants. The school also offers a comprehensive guidance program that focuses on academic development and career awareness. Its academic development classes offer information on decision making, problem solving, goal setting, critical thinking, logical reasoning and interpersonal communication skills.
