The Makanda Inn provides refined, distinctively luxurious lodgings hidden deep in the Shawnee National Forest next door to Giant City State Park and down the street from the Makanda Boardwalk. Savor unique, out of the ordinary breakfast and dinners featuring local organic ingredients, explore the natural landscapes, and rejuvenate in one of our king beds. The tranquility you will experience here, rivals locations far more remote. Sounds of nature, rarely interrupted, change with the seasons. From the near silence in winter to the symphony of creatures celebrating the warmth of summer. We have five guest suites in the main lodge and three private cottages (two one bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit). Suite has a refrigerator & coffee maker. One bedroom cottages have an equipped kitchenette which includes: a two burner electric stove, sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. West End Cottage has a full-size, well-equipped kitchen. Local micro-roasted coffee is supplied freshly ground in your suite and cottages. Our West End Cottage is pet friendly.
